When you think about the key aspects of a business or sales model, what are the first things that come to mind?  Perhaps it is locating a winning team of salespeople or creating the perfect product.  However, one thing that many of us seem to lose sight of is that without leads, all of that could go to waste!

What are leads, then?  Examining the term as it relates to this topic, a lead is simply a person that we think could end up becoming a paying customer in the future.  There are a few ways that we can accomplish our goal of locating them, of course.  The biggest concerns in this avenue are typically held by companies that do their business in virtual spaces.

How it Works on Digital Platforms

Let us get right into it –for the most part, the way that we successfully accomplish the goal of finding people we could convert into customers is by creating a landing page.  What do I mean by that, though, and why is it so important?

First, let us discuss what a landing page is. Essentially, it is the first impression that you provide for the visitors to your website.  Obviously, that is quite an important part of a sales plan.  That is a general definition, though, so I will get more specific about it now.

So – your page needs to be something that can stand alone.  Say that you have sent out an email or have posted a link on your social media profile that relates to your company.  The goal, then, is to “funnel” that visitor into making a purchase once they see the contents that you have to offer.

Whatever action that you want visitors to take is known as your “call to action,” which should be the main purpose of the content that you put there.  If you are wondering how to create a landing page, it is a relatively simple process.  There are even instructional videos, blogs, and companies that are dedicated to helping others with creating them.

What Makes for a Successful One?

Now, let us turn our attention to what content you should have on a successful landing page.  The first thing that you should remember here is that you should always keep that main call to action in mind as you create your designs.  Otherwise, you can easily lose track of it and end up making something that does not match those goals.

An eye-catching design is something important, of course.  You should make an appealing page, since that is how you can make the best first impression that you can.  Bright colors are one method, though you should not make them neon in most cases.  Try pastels but do be sure that all of the text is fully legible.

High contrast is another thing that you could implement.  What do I mean by that?  Well, an example that we see fairly often is white text against a black background or black text against a white background.  Anything that makes the information easy to read and digestible is the best route in terms of successfully getting conversions on the clicks.

What are Conversions?

A conversion is when someone who clicks on the link or ends up on your landing page completes the call to action that you want them to.  From there, though, further conversions would be something like them purchasing a product or service from your page!  It will largely depend on what you are selling, and what the content would be in the first place.

Why This Matters

Businesses operate to make sales and to generate revenue.  Therefore, everything that we do to further those goals will be beneficial in some form or another.  Everything that I have discussed today falls into that category, so applying it to your own companies is not a bad idea. 

It can be difficult to adjust.  Despite that, though, it is worthwhile to do so.  There is no denying that online business seems to be the way of the future.  Having storefronts in the digital space is one of the best ways to drive up sales at the current moment.  However, having that website exist in space without taking action to generate leads will not get you anywhere. 

That is why what we have discussed here today matters so much.  We simply must take action on our own and do our best to build ourselves up for success down the line.  Cultivating the ideal landing page is just one of the many ways that we can do this.  It takes practice, though, so that is something to bear in mind.

The organizations and companies that are out there are specifically designed to assist businesses with it, though, so do not be afraid to take advantage of that if you want to.  In general, I am a firm believer in using all of the tools that we have at our disposal.  Leave no stone unturned, right?
