Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information eLiveStory (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects when you visit www.elivestory.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the website.

Information We Collect

Information you give us

  • Contact form and email: when you contact us, we receive your name, email address and the content of your message.
  • Comments: when you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and website (if any) you enter, along with the comment itself.

Information collected automatically

  • Comments: we also store your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam.
  • Security: to protect the site from brute-force attacks, our security tools log IP addresses linked to failed login attempts.
  • Server logs: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of visit, for security and performance.

Cookies

We use only a small number of cookies:

  • Comment cookies: if you choose to save your name, email and website when commenting, these are stored in cookies on your device for one year so you don’t have to re-enter them.
  • Functional and performance cookies: our caching system may set cookies needed to deliver pages quickly and correctly.

We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or analytics tracking cookies. If that changes, we’ll update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Embedded Content and Gravatar

Articles may include embedded content, such as videos, images or social media posts. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited the other website, which may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction under its own privacy policy.

If you comment, an anonymised string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture. Gravatar’s privacy policy applies to that service.

How We Use Your Information

  • To reply to messages you send us
  • To publish and moderate comments
  • To protect the website from spam, abuse and security threats
  • To keep the website running properly and improve it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Who We Share Information With

We share information only when necessary:

  • Service providers that help us run the website, such as our hosting provider and email service, which may process data on our behalf
  • Automated spam-detection services, where comment data may be checked
  • Authorities, when we are legally required to share information or need to protect our rights or the safety of others

How Long We Keep Data

  • Comments and their metadata are kept as long as the comment remains published, so follow-up comments can be approved automatically.
  • Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up.
  • Security and server logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted or overwritten.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct or delete it
  • Object to or restrict how we use it
  • Withdraw any consent you’ve given

To make a request, email elivestory.contact@gmail.com. We’ll reply within a reasonable time, and within any period required by law. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

Readers Around the World

eLiveStory is run from India and read worldwide. We handle personal data in line with India’s data protection law and respect the rights that readers have under their own local laws, such as the GDPR in the European Union and United Kingdom, and privacy laws in US states like California. Our hosting and email providers may store data in other countries; where this happens, we rely on them to protect it with appropriate safeguards.

Data Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the website and the information it holds, including login protection and HTTPS encryption. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Children’s Privacy

eLiveStory is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Our articles link to other websites, including sources and, in some cases, sponsored links. We’re not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, so please read their policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
